I found my new love.......

Did a lift job this afternoon in ENGINE 58. It was awsome! I flew from the right seat this time. I haven't flown the 58 very much lately and I usually fly from the left seat with our chief pilot. It was really rewarding to finally get into the right seat and be able to fly a lift job. I had 22 picks, six of them weighing 3500 pounds. It was quite the challenge. It's been very different going from a little astar on the forest with very few missions long lining to now flying big machines doing precision lift work. It's truly rewarding. The job was down in Indio, just south of Burmuda Dunes. It was for a new Target. I really enjoyed flying that helicopter on the lift job. It flies sooooo nice. Either I'm finally getting more comfortable in the 58 and getting better with the lift work, or that machine is just super nice to fly for lift jobs, because it sure made the job go smoothly. I love this machine! It's my new favorite!

Earlier that morning I flew for KMEX. I've been working long hours and flying for so many different operators going from mission to mission. Flying news, police, construction, etc. It's really fun. Sunday I flew for FOX again for their morning show and we had such a blast. We flew out to Lancaster for the Poppies which are stunning from the air. But the harsh reality of news set in as we flew back towards hollywood to shoot video of a dead body. A woman had drowned in her pool. It's bizarre to be flying along and one moment we are on top of the world admiring the beauty we fly over, then the next we are flying over such sad news.

Hi Desiree,

I just read your post about the sharks... it's funny, because I just dove with sharks in Hawaii. I was in awe how much fascination I felt while under water with them. No fear, just Fascination

I was wondering where how I could loose your email address out of my address book.

Can you send it to me again. Just in case if I need to borrow some eggs or salt some day :-))

By the way, I love blogging... I just put some pictures and some other stuff on there.

I just subscribed to your blog and man.. is that convenient. Whenever you write something... whuppss.. it is in my inbox hot off the plate.

He Desiree,

It's so good to see love between a pilot and a flying machine... As long as such things will happen, aviation will not die. This is much stronger than bureaucracy, pseudo-security, eco-integrists and all the rest.

Thank You, and long life to you and 58 !!

Right seat, right on! So happy for you after years in the "Boxpit" and still finding a thrill in a different machine.
So when are ya flying the Skycrane & Chinook Desiree?

5-2-08 at 6:30am I was near the Glendale Police Dept. Heli Pad, heard a chopper overhead at around 500agl. It was Chopper 2, was that you!? I tried throwing rocks and screaming to get your attention. The cops couldn't understand why I was acting that way so they cuffed me, maced me, got me in a choke hold (thought that was illegal now?) the usual, you know.....
Kidding.
WHP Airport Assoc. emailed me. Your going to be on TV Dez. This Sunday KCET at 4:30pm will air One Six Right. Very cool.
Be good, have a super weekend.

Holy Mother of Pearl Dez,
You've got ratings now?! How awful is that?
Someone at "Blog Central" came up with an "idea" to make these easy going Blogs more edgy and competitive? What's their reasoning?
I'll give you (how many stars do they offer?)all the stars and then some.
Whomever you are out there in your little office cubical, shame on you for foisting a grading system. So uncool and juvenile.
Sorry for the rant Dez, when it comes to people who come up with these "ideas" well............
"I'd rather face a man with an ax, than a man with an idea".

Hey Dez,
This Tue. at CMA I'll be at the War Bird Tour 2008. There will be a couple of bombers and fighters and best of all I'll be able to go to the pilot supply store up there and buy a friggin fuel sample cup to replace the one I lost.
I'm really jonesen over the loss of SanVal. Want me to pick up anything for you while I'm up there.....a Zulu
headset, Martini shaker, fuzzy dice?
