Been flying news this week for the a.m. shows for both KMEX and KCBS. Flew with Alex Calder of Helispot.com this morning. He took some cool photos as the sun came up while we hovered over a crime scene in hollywood once the show was over. Flying news in the morning is always fun because not only is it beatiful to start out flying at night and watch the sunrise, but all of the news and traffic watch ships are up flying making it fun to be up there and work with everyone!

Like those sunrise shots!
Quick story since I've been up since 3am.
Did a movie up along the Sacramento River at Walnut Creek. There is a "speak-easy" up along the delta left over from the 20's that was turned into a hotel. Production put us up there. We did all night shots. When the sun began to rise after we wrapped, myself and a friend stuffed beers into our pockets and climbed a 100' water tower behind the hotel. Just as we got to the top the sun broke the horizon and a Stearman outfitted with a sprayer passed low over the field in front of us and let out its spray. The sun back lite the particulates coming off the wings and a rainbow of color flowed from its tail.
The biplane came back, did another pass and the color was gone. Awesome!
The things one sees when you work out in the world!
