My new favorite Blog........
p.s. before I go to bed, since it has been a long day of flying lift jobs and news, I wanted to share my new favorite blog..............http://blog.calactive.com/
Wow, this girl does all of the things I wish I had more time to do. I am so envious of her and her adventures! She seems to do it all and appreciate the beauty in our outdoors and most importantly all of the great things we can do here in So Cal. Check it out for some inspiration on getting ideas of fun things to do!

Desiree,
Envious? She sounds like you! You could be sisters!
Laguna might be small but it offers so many outdoor opportunities.
When I have down time I'll usually spend my vacation at home down there because of all the things one can do practically free. If you have a board, kayak, bottle of wine, scuba gear, a bike or any of the above, you'll never be bored.
I just found your blog tonight, thanks to Aviatrix (http://airplanepilot.blogspot.com/). I'm 35 years old and working hard to afford a late entry into the world of aviation. Thanks for providing a little more inspiration to see it through.
Hey Desiree, cheers for the link! I love the way the Internet makes it so easy to find like-minded people. I think that we were actually seperated at birth. I am totally in love with Mammoth so give me a shout when you are going again and we’ll see if we can arrange something. Really glad to have found you! And once again cheers for the reference. Later, Nicci - oh and have a look, I wrote a bit on our blog about my helitrip over LA and referenced you again but just want to say don't worry, I'm not going to become like Mel (biggest fan) on Flight of the Conchords (I'm assuming you like it as much as I do since we were seperated at birth :-)) - just thought you'd like the banter! Take care & get some rest! Nicci
camerapilot, i think her and i are somehow related. lol.
pilot2b, wow, thanks, funny you write me. in conversation over dinner tonight with my chief pilot of our company, who started flying at 35 years old, after i started, he has more experience than me now! he's the awsome lift pilot, the great fire pilot, the chief pilot, so yes, it's never too late, it's just doing it....that matters, not age or anything else. just determination and a strong desire which seems to be a common thing among pilots i've noticed to get where we are today.
calactive, i agree! pretty cool! that would be great to go up there or meet up there togther. sounds like we have alot in common. glad to have met you as well! thanks and talk soon!
Sister's? Hummmm, let me think... Horton is an English name; Gum pattern and tooth depth is similar and flying in a chopper is enjoyed, hmmmmmm. Yeah your friggin related.
Listen up you two. If you every meet up in Laguna you have to listen to what I have to say alright!?
No.# 1 Go to Wahoo's for fish tacos.
There are a lot of restaurants in Laguna and most are geared to "Tourists" okay! They are awful, but expensive!
No.# 2 Have cocktails at Laguna Hotel. Walk past the lobby and make your way to the veranda. Sit and order cocktails and take in the wind and the sea. If the person waiting on you asks if you want food, head butt them and don't leave a tip. Food is verboten because it is BAD!!!!!
If perchance you meet in the morning one can have breakfast at Penguin's. It's where the locals eat. If you want something light, go to the Hidelberg next to the Pottery Barn on PCH. You'll find all the locals down there with their dogs and kids.I know the guy that founded it and he makes all the pastry or at least whom ever he taught is doing a really good job.
WX permitting you should all jump in the ocean and get tossed. It doesn't matter what the temp is. It is the best feeling in the world because the ocean is the world......
As a kid, if I had a cold coming on, my mom would tell me to go to the beach and jump in the ocean, all that salt water would rinse that cold away and because of that I never missed a day of school. That sucked.
Those are the ground rules for Laguna from someone who is third generation Laguna, so wise, have fun and park in residential. Never feed the parking meters.
Correction-
I said that the Heidelberg Cafe was next to Pottery Barn, oops, I only have lived here all my life.
I meant to say "Pottery Shack".
Heidelberg Cafe is at 1100 S PCH on the N side of the Hwy. Wahoos is just a bit N. from that on the ocean side.
Nicci should know it and if you ask any local they can tell you where to go.
Loved Camerapilot's summary of what to do in Laguna - especially the bit about headbutting if pushed towards ordering naughty food. I had breakfast at Heidelberg on Sunday morning after a gruelling power yoga class. I probably sat next to you Camerapilot but don't even know it. And Penguins is just 2 minutes walk from the CalActive office - are you sure you aren't stalking me?!

Hi Calactive,
I'm so busy on a feature right now that stalking is out of the question.
You probably have seen me standing in line at the cafe though, it's my favorite place and I'm always with my friend, my Rotti. He likes the croissants which he takes to the beach at Brooks and eats them on the sand.
