Happy Monday!

I haven't blogged lately for a couple reasons. Been really busy but mostly, nothing really exciting to share lately. Kind of a slow adventure month so to speak. I have some old photos from going to mammoth several weeks ago or so. But you've all seen plenty of mammoth pics recently and I'm not in any of these, so no fun. Last week, the typical, just plain fun flying around L.A. It's so awsome here as I always mention. But I can never say it enough. Today was especially amazing. This morning I woke up and since it was so sunny and warm at an early hour, I got my lazy and tired self out of bed, loaded up my dirtbike, and hit the mountains for a little ride before coming into fly today. What a perfect day to ride. Texas Canyon, a bit of a long haul up that bumpy road, but worth it once your at the staging area. Today at work, super clear and pretty during our day flights and tonight, wow, the moon was amazing. Coming back from a rescue in Malibu we shot video of the moon for the show for weather later as it blazed across the ocean. Oh, I forgot, last week, I saw that meteor that flew across the sky while we were flying to a fire in Simi Valley the night it happened. The light was so big and slow that I seriously thought it was an airplane flying over us, overtaking us, then it disapeared and I kept staring into the dark sky as if I had seen a UFO. It was strange for sure. Did not look like your typical shooting star. Anyway, the next day on our morning show, our anchors mentioned that the chopper crew had seen it. Guess alot of people did. Sure was interesting.

Desiree can relate to how strange a meteor sighting can be. One time travelling up 395 a meteor came in and we think exploded in the atmosphere. The flash was so intense that it literally became daylight at 2AM.

Greetings, I am trying to start a writers association for people like you and I. I write a blog called Captains Log. Flying the B-767 for a while now. I have found out that if we fellow aviation writers form an association we can take advantage of the same opportunities writers from the press get. My sister is a travel writer and she has convinced me that I should at least try to get some of us together as an organized group. We could all try to meet somewhere down the road, get ideas from each other, give feedback about our individual writings. What do you think. Let me know if your interested. Desiree, I saw your fine report from the beach in Long Beach tonight (Tuesday) at about 11:30 p.m. Pretty sure I saw you fly just west of my house about 2-3 minutes later (going directly north along the 710 Fwy at the 405.)

trevor, wow, that must have been amazing. pretty cool.

flyguy aka rick, sure! not sure about meeting up unless it's during the winter. i'm gone every summer for 6 months for fire season. leaving in may again. but some sort of interenet way of doing that would be great! let me know how we could work that. thanks for your interest and coming across my blog.

richard, yep that was me last night. stu and i figured whoever it was just wanted to abandon their truck to get rid of it. who knows, but we reported on it anyway, you never know, there could be something bigger to it. was an awsome night to fly. big bright moon once again. great day today as well.

Hi Desiree,"Chopper Chick",
I'm a crazy aircraft mechanic/pilot/biker who's waiting for some warmer flying weather here in Maine. You seem to be enjoying yourself... have you ever driven a V-twin "chopper"?
