my first day in texas for an early fire season

okay, i'm in abilene! interesting place. there's two mediums and one light, well i'm the light obviously. i'm in a black B2 astar. the firefighters are calling me the CIA ship. so we had one fire today, winds were pretty strong, infact when they exceed 35 or so, we are grounded for the day along with the airtankers. i didn't get launched on that fire. i was ready and waiting, but only the one medium went out. out here with the low altitudes, we are only just above 700', so i can carry a full bambi bucket, no cinching down out here. woo hoo! 120 gallons. it's not much, but more than when i'm about 5000'. the helibase manager thought that i was a hooters girl in a flight suit! apparently a while back, one of the pilots brought a real hooters girl to the helibase and put her in his flight suit and told this guy that she was his relief pilot just to see his reaction. so obviously, they thought i was another joke or some sort of gag. i took it as a compliment. yeah! i guess i look like a hooters chick! so now i'm trying to find a hooters shirt to show on up the fire with the next day. unfortunately, no hooters in abilene! anyone got a hooters shirt they can send me to my hotel????
p.s. if only i had a camera to capture the look on the crews faces when i showed up and was introduced as the relief pilot.

I've been to hooters, you're hotter (no pun intended). Good luck and keep safe.

Desiree,
Keep up the good work! What's size Hooter shirt and where do I send it? I was at the Supercross at the Angel Stadium of Anaheim tonight and it was a blast! A buddy of mine owns a the Hooters in the Angels Stadium...

Desiree,

I have a Hooter's t-shirt if you still need one. Good luck in Texas. That's my home state!

Hope you have time to continue the narrative about your fire-drop flights. Jesse the Bear

You watch out for those "Texas" boys, they can be real charming...Just make sure you give them a taste of how we do things here in the new "Wild West Coast"!
We're all very proud of you Desiree!
Give'em Hell, you little smoke-eater , and then get back home safely.
